Rainy Pleasant View B&B Wedding- Amber & Ed

It’s been a May of rain. Every wedding weekend has had some form of precipitation this year so in short.. we’ve been soggy. Thankfully our couples have embraced mother nature while having fun for some creative images.

This was our first visit to the quaint and serene Pleasant View B&B, located just outside of New Cumberland.  Nancy the Innkeeper was a doll and so welcoming to use areas inside the B&B due to the rain which was so appreciated!  Amber and Ed chose to hold their ceremony inside the barn with their intimate reception following at the newly renovated Stable venue.  Mad props to these two for keeping huge smiles on their faces and laughing constantly through out the day.

Reception Spin the Bottle at Wind in the Willows

Jennifer and Garrett hosted a very classy DIY vintage style wedding with hints of lace and burlap, glowing Japanese lanterns, and fill-your-own Mason jar favors for guests.

The couple married in a small family church which boasts huge windows and lots of natural light! Down the aisle, the couple hung natural wooden plaques with snippets burned in from 1 Corinthians, one of which included their last name- “Love Bears All Things”.

Rather than a traditional exit, the couple opted for homemade ribbon streamers which made another appearance later in the evening on the dance floor. Although cutting a small cake, guests were treated to ice cream sundaes following the delicious BBQ feast and some wicked awesome spin the bottle dancing!

Michelle & Travis’ Fall Manor Wedding

photi_0267_mmp

It’s always neat re-visiting locations that Jason and I had checked out when we were planning our wedding years ago and holy hell did we check out locations.  I’d like to stack up the paper pile of venues to the paper pile of houses and see which had more. We’re what you’d call “slow to make decisions”.  Not procrastinators, just we think out our decisions for bigger items, make a decision, then sleep on it, and make it again. photi_0393_mmpSometimes there’s a soft pretzel in there too, to literally “chew things over” and well.. I love carbs.

Michelle and Travis chose the historic Stone Mill Inn for their wedding, which looked much different today versus in 2007.  The garden area near the home was stunning, the patio for cocktail hour was covered and had gorgeous crystal chandeliers hung from the tent.  The rustic barn area was the one part that remained untouched, yet still held that elegant family feeling charm.  photi_0910_mmpMy favorite feature was the limestone area where ceremonies are held.  If the light hits just right, which it did today, it’s simply magical.

Michelle and Travis, two of my absolute favorite people this year, opted for a first look and to get the majority of their images done pre-ceremony.  I loved the beaming smile as Michelle walked up behind Travis, seeing each other for the first time that day.  Throughout their creatives, Michelle and Travis clearly were meant to be together, as they made our hearts swell (again.. might be the post kid hormones but shit they were awesome).  One of my favorite additions to their day was a micro brew tasting during cocktail hour of the couple’s favorite beers.  photi_0525_mmpThere was also some mad dancing to fantastic 80’s music all night.  Travis’ brother has some killer good MJ dance moves!

I know these guys took their party afterward back to the hotel with tons of guest crammed onto their shuttle… I mean who wouldn’t want to drink Papa Nelson’s alcohol!  Congrats guys and lots of love to you both and Mr. Jerome, the dog extraordinaire!

Details, Details, Details… Alicia & Chai’s Rustic Elegance Wedding

Ayysola_0037_MMPWalking into any event, the first thing that catches my eye are the details!  I friggin’ LOVE wedding day details!  It’s kinda like when a plan comes together and you can finally, after months of preparations, see everything come to life.  Photographically.. I drool over carefully chosen table decor, little special touches that reflect the couples’ personality, and unique accent items.Ayysola_0108hb_MMP Alicia and Chai met every single stimulus I’ve always dreamed about in their elegant, vintage inspired wedding at their Beech Springs Farm wedding.

The couple chose to accent the large maple tree with beautifully hung picture frames for their ceremony.  Their cocktail hour boasted fun lawn games, including a ginormous Jenga game, with more great details like a pure white bicycle.  Ayysola_0029_MMPTables for their smaller guest count featured old books with succulents and glass accents.  Lace runners with beautiful linens and silverware also adorned the wooden tables.

My absolute favorite moment from Alicia and Chai’s wedding was their first look. Alicia is an amazing woman, very strong with a huge heart.  While walking down to meet Chai, hiAyysola_0031_MMPs back to her, she began to tear up just a few feet away.  I love the emotion and power in that very moment which I hope the couple is able to look back on fondly in their images:)  Congratulations Alicia and Chai!  Wishing you both an amazing marriage and a lifetime of blessings!

It’s a Pig Pickin’ Ya’ll!

kuhn_0677wh_mmpBarbeque, pig roast, deliciously smoked meaty goodness… Now that I have the carnivore’s attention, have you ever heard the phrase “Pig Pickin”?  Why has this not become standard verbiage for those kick ass, meat centered events that everyone loves?

Nicole and Troy, one of our gorgeous couples from the south, celebrated their wedding at Battlefield Bed and Breakfast in Gettysburg, PA.  kuhn_0043j_mmpThe B&B sits on a remote piece of property, filled with historical decor including some ‘dress up’ items which looked fabulous on the groomsmen!  Nicole and Troy’s event was much different for me photographically as Whitney was rocking lead female photographer, alongside Jason.  Being 8.5 months pregnant I arrived for the ceremony and left after the first dance, serving more as a second shooter, grabbing candids and spending a few moments with the couple for some creatives.

kuhn_0229_mmpThrough her planning, Nicole emailed often, always full of cheer about details and tidbits which were amazing!  Aside from the traditional southern Pig Pickin’, she planned on an old fashion ice cream bar, complimentary and comfortable bridesmaid dresses, a high energy first dance, and a kicked back fire pit for when the sun went down.  One of my favorite moments from the day was when the rain rolled in at the tail end of Nicole and Troy’s ceremony.  Huge drops were starting to fall, yet these two could have cared less… plus it was a nice cool off to the warm July afternoon.  kuhn_0558wh_mmp
