Anniversary Shout Out- Tierney & Ryan

Sweet and simple.  Wedding and budgets can so quickly get out of hand (as we’ve seen when we were married back in 2008).  I’m not entirely sure but I think the sweet, simple weddings are making a comeback… or at least I hope. If they’re anything like Ryan and Tierney’s (doesn’t she have the best name) wedding day, sign us up!  Fort hunter was the perfect backdrop for their beautiful ceremony with reception following at a church fellowship hall.  Congratulations and happy wishes on your one year celebrations Tierney & Ryan <3!

Jessica & Mike Engagement

Another awesome couple, we met up with Jessica and Mike at Fort Hunter for their engagement images on a beautiful early fall evening.  Within our area, there are a few hard hitting locations that many local photographers choose, Fort Hunter being one of them, so finding unique locations each time we visit can be a challenge.  Prior to our session, we mapped out a unique path that we hadn’t used in the past for other clients.  We truly believe in the uniqueness of each couple and love story aka why choose the exact same poses in the exact same locations as another couple we’ve worked with in the past.

Looking adorable, Jessica wore a gorgeous blue lace dress which complimented Mike’s cool casual style.  During their session, not only did we have a blast, but darn if there wasn’t some sort of resemblance I couldn’t put my finger on.  On the drive home while talking to Jas, we got it!  For those photographers out there.. Jessica’s style, to us, would be a cross if Photographer and Fashionista, Jasmine Star and TV Chef Rachel Ray had a kid sister… spot on:)

Tanya & Bruce 08/03/2013

The blending of traditions and cultures is one of our favorite moments about any event, from small details to food and entertainment, having the best of both backgrounds always makes for a unique wedding.  Tanya and Bruce were married in Prince of Peace in Steelton for an eloquent Catholic ceremony and then to the Best Western Premier where their closest friends and family danced the night away to a Croatian Band.  Their story was simple, however their love for each other couldn’t be masked, especially during their romantic first dance!  Congratulations to the wonderful couple, we wish you both the best!

Laura & Clint Engagement

Choosing a theme or desired look for engagement sessions can be an overwhelming fete- should we go classic rural, contemporary urban, rustic nature.. so many decisions.  Laura and Clint had so many fantastic ideas it was hard to narrow down their choices to one/two locations- however the winners ended up being the Capitol grounds and Fort Hunter.  What made their session truly unique was the outfit choices to make their session really fit their individual styles!  We lucked out on having a gorgeous evening and even made it to Ft Hunter in time for a beautiful sunset with rich warm light.  Congratulations on your engagement you two and can’t wait to see you in September (and November) for your beautiful dusk ceremony!

Andrea & George Engagement

Although fantastic on most days, spring time weather can be unpredictable.  Remember that saying learned in grade school, April showers bring May flowers?  Apparently for Andrea and George’s engagement session, April ran a bit late.  We met up with Andrea and George about two minutes before the skies opened up and a massive downpour took over our evening!  Thankfully the covered bridge at Fort Hunter is dry and we had a small break in the rain to grab a few shots around the park!  One of my favorite moments of the session was seeing how AWESOME these two are at posing- the natural fashion inspired look, but hey you be the judge!

Where would we be without Facebook?!

Facebook is such an amazing tool if you think about it.  How often after high school graduation were our parents able to stay connected with friends?  Now you can pretty much unite with friends, teachers, coaches, and lunch ladies… okay that’s beside the point.

Lindsey, one of my 4-H buddies, and I connected up via Facebook a few months ago which she announced her engagement to her super sweet beau, Jarrod!  Lindsey is a little fashionista so gathering creative poses was a breeze and props to both for being so flexible to wander into the murky water of the Susquehanna!  Unfortunately we’re booked for their wedding day but I know they’re going to look stunning and have a very happy marriage!  Congrats to both of you!
