Spring Engagements 2015

WOW!  We had an amazing Spring engagement season this year!  Lots of creative couples and fantastic weather is the perfect background for gorgeous imagery!

Camille & Rob chose downtown Harrisburg for their setting which we took full advantage of the remaining snow for a few fun creatives!SpringEngagement_021_MelissaMcClainPhotography

Kaitlyn & Brian also had some snow on the ground for their Founders Hall Garden session.  I love that they included their gorgeous pup, Koosh:)SpringEngagement_022_MelissaMcClainPhotography

Kate & Douglas rocked engagement style with their State Street engagement session.  Seriously one of the best groom engagement looks in our opinion!SpringEngagement_023_MelissaMcClainPhotography

Samantha & Michael.. OMG.  Just hands down one of my favorite fashion focused engagement sessions.  We had a perfect session at Hershey Hotel.SpringEngagement_024_MelissaMcClainPhotography.jpg

Courtnay & Nick chose to Troegs Brewery for their location which was fantastic both inside and out. The barren train tracks next door were a unique touch!SpringEngagement_025_MelissaMcClainPhotography

Taryn & Nick picked a perfect day and a perfect location to showcase their high school sweetheart love.  The Masonic Gardens in Elizabethtown is one of our favorite location recommendations! SpringEngagement_026_MelissaMcClainPhotography

Alexis and Jared Engagement

Alexis was one of our lucky bridal show giveaway winners from the Weddings In Style show held last year.  When she had contacted us about her ideas for their engagement session we had no doubt we were going to create some fantastic images off of her plans and inspiration!  Alexis and Jared chose to not only celebrate their engagement but their upcoming birthday celebration for their gorgeous Australian Shepherd, Oakley.  Even though we didn’t know much about these two at the beginning of their session, by the end we felt like we had known them for months!  Congratulations again on your engagement and we wish you the very best on your June 2015 wedding!

Rachel & Tom – Engagement

“I’m not happy” was how Tom started out his proposal.  A shocked Rachel, hung on every word as Tom stated his unhappiness was due to wanting more, asking for her to spend the rest of their lives together aka making him a very happy man.  After months apart due to military constraints for both, we met up with these two at The Hershey Hotel for some classy engagement images.  Shooting into the setting sun, we were able to capture some stunning photographs.. especially the ones of Tom in his Air Force Pilot uniform.  Congratulations and be safe until you’re both home you two!  See you both in August of 2014!

Lauren & Kyle Engagement

A gorgeous day with a gorgeous couple.. who could ask for a more perfect engagement session.  We met up with Lauren & Kyle for their unique engagement session at The Hotel Hershey.  Although we’ve photographed this location multiple times in the past, each new session we strive to grab new locations on the same grounds to make each session personalized.  Lauren and Kyle were extremely laid back and enjoyed a few laughs while incorporating some of their uncommon props, including Banana Grams!  Can’t wait to see you two in June of 2014 and congratulations on your engagement!

Mackenzie & Tim 06/22/2013

Imagine a touch of Hershey with a hint of the ever famous Tiffany & Co- What you get is a stunning, classy affair with a hint of sweetness and fun!  Mackenzie & Tim met while meandering the halls of a Pittsburgh hospital that both were working at a few years back.  After casual hallway conversation, Mackenzie and some friends invited Tim along to a night out and the rest is history!

Their engagement proposal story is one that give us chills of ‘Aww’s and excitement’ as after a fun filled day of sight seeing in NY, this gorgeous couple made their way up to the Empire State Building at night.  Tim softly whispered in Mackenzie’s ear “Do you want to spend the rest of your life with me?”.  [Insert Aww!]

So many awesome moments were shared at Tim and Mackenzie’s wedding that it’s hard to narrow down just one favorite.. so we won’t!  I personally loved when entering her getting ready room, she was as cool as a cucumber and ready to marry the man of her dreams.  I also loved the unconventional processional of both the Golden Girls theme song and Kings of Leon as both her gorgeous maid of honor and Mackenzie made their way down the narrow steps to the Hershey Hotel Rock Garden.  The touches of Hershey were everywhere from the chocolate covered dessert fountain, to the chocolate shake shooters, to the massive candy favor table, and not to forget the party crashers known as the chocolate bar and Reese’s bar!

Dying to see more of these images and see their wedding story?!  Be sure to stop by our office as Tim and Mackenzie’s story is depicted in one of our gorgeous sample albums from GraphiStudio!  In closing we wish the absolute best to these two summer favorites and can’t wait to watch both grow in their marriage together in the next years to come!

Lauren & Dan Engagement

Engagements, Weddings, and Seniors (in no particular order) are definitely my top three favorite sessions to photograph!  I love weddings- everyone is always filled with emotions and looks their absolute best, engagements- couples are in love and filled with anxiousness and excitement, and seniors- as most of today’s teenagers yearn for something a little different and offbeat.. aka right up our alley!  Lauren and Dan’s engagement session was definitely one of our absolute favorite sessions to capture this summer.  Both super sporty, and avid hockey fans and players, what better location to grab unique images than a mixture of Hershey Hotel and the local Hockey practice rink?  I must admit one thing.. laying/photographing inside on the ice rink on a warm summer day.. awesome and highly recommended although Jason looked a little wet afterward!

A Weekend Without Weddings…

Okay, as amazing as it sounds, we had no weddings this weekend!  What’s a photographer to do without a wedding weekend?  Edit… nah.. well okay we did that too but how about engagement shoot?

Jas and I had the privilege of spending the morning with Carly and Michael who will be getting married, almost to the date, next May.  Carly looked amazing with an adorable hair piece that complimented the shots fantastically!  Despite a gloomy, cloud covered day, these two had some amazing on film chemistry!  Thanks again to the Hershey Hotel for a beautiful and very accommodating setting!

>Portrait Models

>A photographer friend had recently told me a great piece of advice, “To keep your wedding eye fresh, you should shoot other medias”. With that said we are a constant learning house that works with local models or friends for practicing poses and studio portraiture. Friends of ours, Steph and Cindy were able to join us in Hershey for a fun sunset shoot while we worked with some new lighting techniques. The outcome was spectacular and the ladies have some great images to take from our learning lesson:)

>Jennifer and Stephen July 24, 2010

>Gorgeous day, beautiful couple, and very special words were just a few fabulous notations of Jennifer and Stephen’s special day. Despite being a short photographic venture, we were able to capture some breathtaking images at the Hotel Hershey. My favorite part of the day had to be when we were “mock” cutting the cake and Jas said `Okay. I want you to go psycho for this next picture.’ Which was indicated in reference to going psycho on the cake, turned into this fun image which is sure to be a crowd pleasing sample image for our albums! Congratulations Stephen and Jennifer!
