I try to remember a lot! So much that I’ll ask Jason, ‘Love Duck (oh yeah.. we’re that cheesy) do you remember…’ and I’ll get those husband-like looks of “Really.. you can remember that.. I can’t remember what socks I wore yesterday!”. One of my favorite client meetings that I remember was meeting up with Carley and Patrick in Carlisle way back when the planning stages were in full swing for them. I remember seeing them and thinking ‘WOW that is a dashing couple!’.
Both Carley and Patrick are of natural gorgeousness and amazing personalities that through the lens you can’t get a bad image of these two, individually yes and even more so when they are together! Carley and Patrick had exchanged vows at the Lodge at Blue Ridge Summit (LOVE that place) on an amazing fall day with the trees on the mountain in full color and the sky a nice crisp gray blue! Carley wore a stunning back plunging gown and Patrick a tasteful creamy brown tux which both styles carried over into all of their fantastic details of seating charts written on old window panes, place card holders from wine corks, mason jars of candy corn with a chalkboard table numbers, and floating candles in amber colored glass pumpkin vases. Carley, a pastry chef at a prominent restaurant in Philadelphia, also made their own cake to which post smash had informed us that cutting her own creation was very challenging!
The best thing about this wedding, as many of our weddings have been this year, is that beginning to end, it was all about Carley and Patrick. Every detail was each of them individually and together. Congratulations to the wonderful couple and many years of happiness and success!
We see a wide variety of emotions on any given wedding day- some are nervous and anxious, however most are calm and just excited! Mandy and James were definitely calm, cool, and collected all day! I loved catching the small glimpses and smiles they exchanged through the ceremony to the embraces shared during their first dance. Some of my favorite posed images all year came from this wedding! My personal favorite is the “clue style” with the darker lighting and the red floor which appear timeless and classic!
The perfect wedding is something that every couple sets out to achieve for their big day- from putting on the dress and tuxedo to dancing the night away and everything in between, careful planning with both the couple and their friends and family at the forefront of their mind. Our ideal of a perfect wedding is slightly simplistic- a bride and groom in love. Sure a fantastic location, gorgeous attire, wonderful families and friends, and a DJ or Band that keeps the music rolling are all wonderful, when it comes down to the basics, a couple in love with each other overrule everything that appears on a wedding checklist.
Fortunately we had the whole package at Hannah and Brad’s wedding on June 12th, 2011 held at the Lodge at Blue Ridge Summit. We were blown away with how fantastic the day was, the weather was perfect, the families and friends were awesome and some of the best we’ve interacted with, the 15 piece swing band was stellar, and of course the location was wonderful, however it was the love that Brad and Hannah shared that made their day what it was! Enjoy the sneak peeks shown below and be sure to check out the MMP website for Hannah and Brad’s highlights as our newest feature wedding in the next few weeks!
There’s something to be said about a prepared and relaxed bride and groom! The day flows better, pictures are calm and classy, and guests are at ease! This wedding was special to Jason and Myself because this was our first time working the location where we were married back in 2008! Given we’ll be here at least 4 more times this year, finding a photo op for this couple was a piece of cake. Cassie adorned a gorgeous open back corset dress that looked stunning and carried an amazing bouquet of fresh hydrangeas, with such beautiful weather, we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day to cover!
