Details, Details, Details… Alicia & Chai’s Rustic Elegance Wedding

Ayysola_0037_MMPWalking into any event, the first thing that catches my eye are the details!  I friggin’ LOVE wedding day details!  It’s kinda like when a plan comes together and you can finally, after months of preparations, see everything come to life.  Photographically.. I drool over carefully chosen table decor, little special touches that reflect the couples’ personality, and unique accent items.Ayysola_0108hb_MMP Alicia and Chai met every single stimulus I’ve always dreamed about in their elegant, vintage inspired wedding at their Beech Springs Farm wedding.

The couple chose to accent the large maple tree with beautifully hung picture frames for their ceremony.  Their cocktail hour boasted fun lawn games, including a ginormous Jenga game, with more great details like a pure white bicycle.  Ayysola_0029_MMPTables for their smaller guest count featured old books with succulents and glass accents.  Lace runners with beautiful linens and silverware also adorned the wooden tables.

My absolute favorite moment from Alicia and Chai’s wedding was their first look. Alicia is an amazing woman, very strong with a huge heart.  While walking down to meet Chai, hiAyysola_0031_MMPs back to her, she began to tear up just a few feet away.  I love the emotion and power in that very moment which I hope the couple is able to look back on fondly in their images:)  Congratulations Alicia and Chai!  Wishing you both an amazing marriage and a lifetime of blessings!

Planes, Trains, and Weeping Willows- Jessica & Mike’s Rustic Chic Wedding

10269290_10152515883392259_2793735216327793885_oAfter laughing with and getting to know Jessica and Mike during their engagement session a few months ago, we knew their wedding day was going to be nothing short of amazing.  From the planned details of their reception decor to the gorgeous blue satin Badgley Mischka shoes10259113_10152515882977259_2093514013940765107_o Jess chose, their wedding was simply elegant with hints of rustic chic that tied everything together at their Wind in the Willows location fantastically!  Jessica, who is in my opinion a splitting image of Rachel Ray meets Jasmine Star, has one of the best and sweetest personalities which was only heightened during their wedding day, especially during their first look when Mike couldn’t help but gush over his gorgeous bride!

Some of our favorite moments, aside from squishing in the recently rained upon fields, were hitting up some must have areas for their posed images which included the plane 10273208_10152515882347259_3968683354778361095_o (mostly for her dad who is an avid lover of aircraft) and for us photographers.. the willows.  I couldn’t help but choose one of their stunning images for a metal canvas wall art for our new office!  I also have to give mad props to Mike Miller of Mixed Up Productions, one of our preferred DJ friends, who kept the dance floor packed all night.  Jessica and Mikes guests literally were up out of there seats and kicking off shoes during “dinner music” hour!

Sarah & Jeff 05/18/2013

I personally LOVE couples who have amazing and unique personalities!  Meeting Jeff and Sarah I knew we were going to be in for a great wedding!  J & S were married at Camp Puh’ Tok in Maryland, which is a huge summer camp they had rented for the weekend as not only a one day celebration, but a weekend filled with fun activities for their friends and family (I hear capture the flag was on the menu)!  The details, down to the classy table settings, were immaculate and despite a little spritzing of rain during the ceremony, the day was near perfect!  One of my favorite moments was capturing the cocktail hour swing dance lessons and watching the fabulous first dance share by these two amazing dancers!  Congratulations to you both, keep on dancing, smiling, and loving!

..Something Old, Something New…

I’m almost positive that every bride we’ve worked with has followed the Western tradition of “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue…”.  Some have also added the final installment of a Sixpence in your shoe, which is more common in England than in the United States.. or so says Wikipedia.  This past weekend we had our own traditions being fulfilled of working another double team wedding on the 18th with two new couples who were family members of past MMP clients married in 2009 (Lisa and David) and 2010 (Laura and Brett).

Scott and Christin’s team had the pleasure of photographing Jaime and Matt in Lancaster.  With a stop off at Millersville University for some great photo ops, Jaime and Matt looked amazing, extremely happy, and very much in love.  I also heard something about a snow cone stand.. yum!

Jason, Megan, and I were in the Myerstown/Ono area with Laura and Lee (and their gorgeous daughter Peighton) who had a phenomenal bridal party and stylish reception location!  Laura was absolutely stunning in her gown and who wouldn’t love a surprise ice cream bar with all the toppings you can imagine!

Congratulations to both amazing couples and special thanks to our former bride and grooms for the referrals!  It was awesome seeing you again!

Perfect Duck Weather!

They do say that rain is good luck on your wedding day!  For Shannon aka Pip and Paul they should have some amazing good luck for the torrential downpours that went on all night post ceremony!  One good thing, aside from the super sweet couple getting married of course, was the fantastic clouds that created quite a dramatic backdrop!

We also can’t say enough good things about Pip and Paul and their entire bridal party, families and friends, for all of the great laughs, momentous spirit, and good times we were able to share!  Having met both Pip and Paul only on their wedding day, I must say this is a very well matched couple, both with light hearted, good time personalities!
